Every youtuber that did minecraft? You mean people like Captainsparklez, SSundee, DanTDM and all those?

anyway, I'm sure its going to become less. I'm also sure its going to hang on by the fingernails for more than 4 years. I won't be in this community in 4 years. But I expect to see a whole bunch of new players. Possibly a fully overhauled minecraft 2.0.

With the data you have available, your expectations are correct. It would however be completely unrealistic as well as foolish to assume that these data will not change in the meantime.

Fortunately, the community will not require any people who "hang on for the sake of hanging on".

I've illustrated why Minecraft is not dying in my latest reply and I'd appreciate it if you could read it.

I read it and I agree with it. I was responding to the other people. I may not have completely allowed for the information provided in your response, but I believe we're illustrating almost the same point, just from different directions.

The normal factions community is almost dead, but it's gonna take a bit longer for whole Minecraft to die out.

They still do videos about minecraft. but you can see how low views some of the big minecraft youtubers get
Example: SSundee gets only 10k - 20k views to this day. He use to get around 1M-2M Views.

I think you mean he went down from 3mil+ to around 1 mil with the occasional 2 mil.

However, I personally believe this is not specifically due to a decline in the popularity of minecraft.
Rather, it is due to the changed way youtube now recommends content and the misleading properties of the personal home page.

For instance, Markiplier isn't getting nearly as many views per video (on average) now as he did last year, and yet he's still growing in subscribers. Why is this? if the videos don't show up in the way people were used to, a lot of people miss them.

anyway we can argue about it until the sun sets in the south and rises in the north, but I doubt either side on this thread is likely to change their minds. So I guess I'll be checking back in 4 years from now, to see what has become of minecraft.
