Minecraft is dead in general. The popularity is at the same level as before the game even got as popular as it did (It was more popular in 2011 than it is now 2019).

Mineplex? It's too late to say that it's "dead" or "dying". WAY too late. It died probably a year or two ago when
1) Chiss left
2) They no longer supported 1.7

I was a former mod on the server as well way back when. Stuff has changed a lot it looks like.

imo a server is dead when it's lost all of it's players and it's down to the single/double digit marks. Mineplex still gets over 1k players, and that's a lot of players.

But yeah, I agree with you. It is definitely not a dead server. But, it is, in my opinion, an irrelevant server and it is rather disregarded by most of the community.
Which is ironic, considering I hold donation ranks there.

Everyone thinks mineplex is dead because they’re comparing the numbers from before to now. Which if you look at it from a different server stand point it’s good numbers.
