Is the graphics card GDDR5 memory? I assume 2gb. So if it is that, I see where you're coming from and it isn't too bad.

If you're happy with it then don't be disappointed. People tend to be curious, like how I jumped to the reasoning of (for example) buying more high end peripherals than the computer itself because honestly I have personally seen no one do that before. All I can say really is if you're happy with what you have, don't worry about what people think. Also a life lesson towards anything actually.

Next I would definitely upgrade the GPU if you want some computing advice, seen as you're stocked on with peripherals/equipment, but I would also recommend a powerful PSU. I mean it may be overkill, but you never know what other power-consumption parts you may buy in the future.
I can't afford a high value part like that for awhile for Christmas or something I might upgrade to a i7 processor or a better cpu

Might be a good choice. Minecraft is CPU intensive but if you're also looking to run mods (affecting gameplay/in singleplayer) then you should stock up on RAM also.
I have 8gb ram, I haven't found a game where my ram was a problem tbh.

LOL WHAT ? MINECRAFT IS CPU INTENSIVE DUMBO
Alot of games, arent. Yes the CPU does have a large impact, but FPS is more heavily influenced by the graphics card.

Oh that's good, yeah 8GB is probably enough memory for the job. I'm being overkill and using 24gb RAM personally.[DOUBLEPOST=1472177204][/DOUBLEPOST]
I thought Minecraft was CPU intensive, but you had to have a good GPU to run mods like shaders? I mean I've done benchmarking tests and it proves my suggestion, but.....
If you have alot of mods then yes, it will requite more CPU usage, however for normal gameplay. A slow CPU will bottleneck FPS, however in most cases it is the graphics card will be the bottleneck. The i5 is good enough. If he was to upgrade to say an i7 6700k then FPS may be a little better, but if he was to upgrade the graphics card to something like a 1080 or even a 970, FPS would jump much higher, that it would if the CPU was to be upgraded.

Saying that though, MC is poorly coded as far as using multiple cores is concerned. Which I guess would suggest that the CPU isn’t a huge influencing factor. If mojang could optimise for multicore, to get more out of the CPU, and it boost performance by a significant amount, then they would have likely done so already.

Wait... After scrolling through the comments you paid SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for that!?

I paid $260 for mine (I5 6500/ 8GB DDR3L / 1TB HDD)

Then put the HD 7750 in there and I guarantee that mine drastically outperforms yours.[DOUBLEPOST=1472178509][/DOUBLEPOST]I also find it funny how people are saying "a 2.7 ghz cpu cant play mc" even though Gigahertz mean nearly nothing in the grand scheme of it.

No it's not.
Minecraft mainly uses CPU to run it as it is java based, if the cpu is weak (Like 2.7ghrz) it will rely more on the GPU for power, as it does with OpenGL and shaders.

Yeah I know I meant that his GPU should be able to handle it just fine.
