If you can get out there on google etc with high SEO then sure.
If your stuck on mc-market as your advert place, I would not bother, lots of people will prefer to go cheap (not saying everyone but there is a small amount that still choose specs and quality over like $0.50/gb not enough to stay open sustainably)

Anything can be sustainable you just need to do that research and not rely on forums like this.

Yes, and if you can bring something new to the table that is unique and has very good support, and you really are promising high-specs with low-to-none downtime, I think you've got a pretty good chance of overthrowing competition on here as most of them are just trying to make a quick buck, as for in other markets, not sure, you might be able to leave a dent but the general market is flooded with hosts so even if you're very unique you won't be leaving a huge dent on there, but with the right advertising I believe you can manage.
