I really want to become a web developer, but I'm struggling to learn on my own so I need a mentor who will help me make my app that I want or at least make a simple app so I have an understanding of how it all goes. I know to make websites with HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript and jQuery, but I want to make a real app where people can do something with it and can benefit from it. If you can help me with achieving my goals please PM me and we can talk about it on Skype or Discord or something. Thank you very much for reading. :)

I assume Sosa mentioned me because of my experience with Back-End development, specifically PHP. Is this the kind of thing you are looking to learn?

Anything I need to make a web app.
It depends.
There are a lot of back-end languages you can use to make web applications. You can even make useful applications with front-end languages only, as long as it won't pose any security risk.
If I were you, I would come up with an idea for my web application first, before attempting to have mentors help you through the development phase.
Who knows, maybe you'll end up using something besides PHP, such as Node.js, Ruby, or Java.

Not that I disagree you should know what you want, but you should get the basics down first (especially with PHP) imo.

I wouldn't say so. He doesn't even know what language would fit best to his application yet. No reason to go ahead and learn PHP when you could get your ideas down and then learn a language that suits it best.

Are you saying once he knows what he wants he can learn what would best suit that? I guess that works :)
