Is there still a market for Minecraft servers?

I haven't run a Minecraft server in a while, but I've heard some rumours that the overall player-count of daily players on Minecraft has dropped significantly and that it's not as popular; is this true, and if so, is there any market for new servers in 2022/2023? What sort of server should I make, if any? I really want to get back into running a server, but am unsure if it's worth it.

It is a bit more difficult nowadays to create a successful server unless you have like a popular youtuber or streamer backing it, or something quite unique and interesting.

In my opinion, unless you have an idea that is sure to work and is not some generic theme like "Skyblock" or "KitPvP" (Adapations could work), it would be quite difficult to create a successful server.

Just my opinion though!

If you want to build a community server, now is the time to do it, Minecraft is the most played game and the versions that come out every year keep getting better and better. What we can say from personal experience is that, unfortunately, JAVA is less well played, but the Bedrock version is much better, there are new generations who play minecraft and the old ones always come back, so it's definitely a good idea to make a server if you want to keep in the long term

If your plan is to make it for money, I suggest freelancing or something else instead. But if you're just passionate about Minecraft & Creating Servers, I'd highly recommend it. But you usually need a lot of budget nowadays just to buy good content & ads (Creators etc.)
