Hello there!Who are we?
Island Clash is a completely custom server gamemode that is inspired by Clash of Clans, and Age of Empires. We are working closely with PrestonPlays, and MrWoofless (at a combined total of ~68 million monthly views) to bring this premium experience to a lot of different players. They previously did the first season back in December, where we saw peaks of over 1.5k each night. Since that season, we've been working hard to bring out a lot of new content, and polish existing features, and the plan this time is to not let up with the two YouTubers for quite a long while, letting the server snowball to even bigger heights. They have just recently started promotion once again, for season 2. Isles Softworks - the company behind Island Clash - is a relatively new start up, and we are looking to use this server as a long term springboard into a plethora of extremely exciting projects down the road. The team working on Island Clash consists of myself, a full time software engineer, and part time (soon to be full time) one.
What's in it for you?
We're looking to expand our great, close-knit team into a slightly bigger great close-nit team. Island Clash is by no means a small, nor simple, project, and this creates a very rewarding enviroment to be in. We are naught but a bunch of guys looking to create a fantastic product, and expand the company into new avenues, all the while having a lot of fun. Having said that, fun does not pay the bills, and this is why we will be looking to pay, as a starting salary, between $12-14USD/hour. This is dependent on your experience and worth (ie a CS degree would make the number higher), but as the product grows, and as your contributions to the company grows, so does that number.
Do you have the experience?
Things that are needed:
- At least 2 years in Java
- At least 1 year in relational database systems (MySQL or similar)
- At least 1 year in other data structures (Memcache, Redis, or similar)
- At least 18 years old
- Able to work 80 hours minimum a month
- Ability to take constructive criticism
- Ability to cooperate within a team
- Good time management
- Ability to think outside the box
- Write agile code that can be changed based off of project outlook
- Ability to estimate the general complexity of code; we want our product to be efficient
Things that will help:
- Ability to construct modular code
- Ability to write scripts
- Able to work 160 hours a month (ie full time)
- Having worked on other successful servers
- Taken/taking CS at a University
I'm interested! Now what?
If you think you are the person for the job, and would fit well into our team, then we'd love to hear from you! Please contact [email protected], including a full portfolio, why you're interested, and why you think you are the person for the job. We are only looking to fill 1 position here at the current time, but will keep in contact with any promising candidates who are good for future endeavors.
Thanks,
Jed
