There's nothing wrong with minecraft servers but recently there's been alot of servers popping up with "prison" "lifesteal" and many other common tropes that servers have that don't make them stand out at all, they call themselves "Unique" or never before seen when their branding looks like every other server's that you'd see on the site daily, i have nothing against illustraitors or anyone that does that type of art but seeing the same thing over and over again it gets old. Another design style that seems to be overused is the minecraft text style, I loved the style at first but it was ran through the ground during the course of 2020-2022, branding is a big part of attracting players to your server and using an animated server banner free template site you found through google search isn't gonna help.
Gamemodes are what make servers.. servers, having no uniqueness with thee gamemodes can really push players away.. why would they play your prison server when they can play PurplePrison? why would they play your skyblock server when they can play hypixel skyblock? it goes for bedwars and skywars too. Trying to copy other server gamemodes without adding adding a spin to it isn't unique at all.
Just another thing that annoys me a bit is naming. Adding "MC" or "Network" and "SMP" to the end of your server name is just bleh.
I could make a thread like this for hosts too because none of them are really different from eachother. But that's just me though, do whatever you want I'm just stating my opinions here.
