Hey, so basically I bought a dedi from a company and they gave me the account "root1" which has sudo privileges.

After trying to set the root password with the following commands, it just doesn't let me in root and says that the password is invalid.

sudo bash
sudo -i
passwd
passwd root
tried all with sudo, sudo -i, etc.

Any ideas why this might not be working?
