Hey, all.
If you don't know me, in which I'm sure that's the majority of people reading this - I'm the 9th member here. I decided to lurk for a few days and see how this place is going.
It's changed massively, I remember a few of us with Verringer creating the new posts, him adding the resources add-on, etc, and now the site has become an ecommerce icon. We all came from Spigot, if you were wondering how this site got it's first members.
I believe there's a new owner, Mick
Well done sir, you seem to be doing an excellent job. I don't know when you took this place over but I can assume you're the one who catapulted this platform to these impressive levels. There's a new post every minute - none of us ever imagined it would have grown into something so widely used. It's truly nostalgic to go through old private messages here, it's emotional in it's own unique way. Once again, I applaud you.
I used to be a builder, and I used to stand as the guy with the most vouches. However I believe DiabloTurtle may have passed me out by now haha, I love the builds!
I made and lost many friends along my journey, for some of us it was football, for others it was video games, but for me - my childhood was this. Connecting with the community, trading in this voxel-based phenomenon, running a server, learning every step of the way, how to conduct myself in a professional manner, communication skills, marketing, freelancing, systems administration, you name it.
I guess this journey of mine ended somewhere along the way, I'm not sure where, but that's what we do as human beings isn't it? We evolve, we move on and we better ourselves. I moved on to create a YouTube channel making video edits, perhaps I will continue that journey to more places some day. I may not, I may continue my current journey through cryptocurrencies, a topic I've become profoundly fond of. Maybe I'll follow some other dreams of mine, like becoming an actor, I just don't know. I'll see where this road takes me, I'll be happy with whatever it is I decide to do.
I don't intend to be a motivational guru, but I feel I need to get this off my chest. To all those out there who have dreams and ambitions, take it from someone who's seen both sides - CHASE THEM. Life's short, and hell it's definitely too short to pass up on an opportunity to go after something you'd love to do. Adapt an attitude that blocks out all the naysayers, but fuels your fire. Find what it is you love to do, then go for it. Don't settle for mediocrity. Man has no excuse to be unsuccessful, don't blame your situation, unsupportive parents, haters, rise above that. Prove those who doubted you wrong, I promise you nothing feels better. If you put the work in, absolutely anything is possible. Don't think of them as dreams, think of them as plans waiting to be executed. I will live my life aiming for progression, if I'm not evolving what am I doing? Too many people live to be average, they follow the crowd, be the one who steps out of line, who dares to be something more.
It's works, I promise.
Thank you for reading, I hope you're all having a great day. I may continue to lurk around here for a while, my DM's are open if anyone wants any advice, or whatever it is you may need.
