iTunes Shutting Down

So it’s been suggested that Apple is going to be shutting down their iTunes service sometime within the near future in favor of having individual apps that handle things such as movies and songs. What are everyones thoughts on this happening? Is this a step in the right direction or no?

I never really used it but I know people that do and practically use it for all their music. Could have bad implications if they don’t remove it properly.

I mainly use iTunes for movies and for some reason I don’t get to keep them I’m going to be pissed. I’m assuming they’d transfer to their TV app.

They should. My dad uses it a lot as a source of music even though he has google play music premium lmao.

I own YouTube Red so I just use YouTube music if I really need to find a song.

Honestly not sure how iTunes lasted this long. In the era of online streaming and digital piracy, not sure how they could afford to keep it up.

I think personally that it is a good move, ITunes is becoming used a lot less now that Apple Music has come into play and as a result iTunes is becoming obselete. Prehaps combining all their applications oriented around media would be a good option!
