I have got a Server Idea, and I need a Dev's help, but I have a slight issue... I've got no money.

The Server Idea is what a friend of mine wrote, but he unfortunately, does not have the time or money to create.

I am looking for a Dev that might want to work on a LONG-TERM (Months Long) project, without pay, but instead, with Co-Ownership of the server. I can manage the Server, Plugins, Builds, and other Admin Management, leaving the code to you.

I can guarantee you the server is 1 of a kind, and worth creating if you have a creative mind.
For safety / copying reasons, I will not post the server idea here, but PM me if you are interested in contributing or taking a role as Dev.

These threads go downhill--quick

Trust me, if you dont have any money to invest its not a fair partnership, and its unlikely that youll be able to continue this project in the future... just saying. Youre pretty much asking for money, its better to gain some rep (or share your ideas with those interested) and ask for investments.

I can't really take investments as the project is too long term / I don't have enough rep to effectively manage the money.

Pretty sure this is the point where every developer backs out. Of course if it was a small plugin request, someone would probably make it but you're asking for a full time developer with no pay. Imagine how unrealistic that must sound.

Hundreds of people come here and say this exact same thing.

Think about it this way. Why would someone choose to be co owner of a server when they could just do paid plugin commissions?
Well, I guess you are right. TBH the idea is great, and I could send you it :). However, I see your point with the paid work vs. having Co-Owner. As Co-Owner, they would make a percentage from Server Donations (40-50%). I have a good feeling the server can make a good impact.

Developers like cold, hard cash though. Getting paid a percentage of donations is risky business because there's something like 10,000 Minecraft servers and only a small 500 or so of them succeed and bring in bank.
Any ideas what price range I would be looking at for a Standalone Plugin with tons of content?
EDIT: I don't have a rude tone, legit question right here.

Message me the idea and I may consider it, if it's amazing.

Yes a "standalone plugin with lots of content" is exactly $69.54... No one can give you a price on a "plugin with tons of content" without you giving any info. I would consider a skyblock plugin as a standalone plugin with a ton of content and would be a lot more to make than a customenchant plugin which is pretty much standalone and has a lot of content (enchantments)

And why not write the server themselves and get 100 percent of donation without you? What exactly are you contributing if you can't fund the project?

Go on the Minecraft Forums and fill out an application to get sponsored. From there, hosts, or random people could get in contact with you if they really like your idea. Keep in mind, they'll usually ask for part of the profit.

I didn't really blow him off. He was very unclear about what he could provide, and did not make an effort to become part of the group, he even had the balls to advertise his server -_-.
