I am glad you decided to respond respectfully and have a set of coherent points. Let's start with my response.saying rap caused him to abuse drugs is benign. he abused drugs on his own free will and that's the reason he passed so young as well as many other rappers. it's nothing to do with anybody acting edgy online. you're a complete jackass for saying that as the reason I said what I said. people that abuse drugs know the risks and continue to do so instead of getting help. 'he was pushed into it by the toxic rap culture' yet a lot of rappers realize they're slowing killing themselves and want to stop. wether they do or not is beyond me but frankly, they realize the problems it's causing to their body. I don't have to respect him as a human as that's not how I live my life but if that's how you feel then so be it. I have my opinion, you have yours.
Rap culture has pushed people into doing drugs. It is hard to find statistics for this as it is hard to check, however the University of Pittsburgh ran a study on rap music, this is a TL;DR of that study:
A study conducted by the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 analyzed Billboard magazine’s list of the 279 most popular songs of 2005. The results showed that substance use was referenced in 77 percent of rap songs, the highest percentage of drug mentions among all genres included in the study.
Rap culture is the first arrow, that pushes them into the cycle, and the reason they cannot escape it is because of rap culture. They are around drugs constantly, they rap about it, they hear about it. Most importantly, the people they surround themselves with are also in this cycle, it's harder to break the cycle when the people around you are bending it back into place.
"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." - Tony Robbins
This quote is not directly about drug abuse, however it describes the struggle they have.
Yes, a few rappers do realize this and they attempt to break the cycle, not everybody has the will power to do so.'he was pushed into it by the toxic rap culture' yet a lot of rappers realize they're slowing killing themselves and want to stop
Before I start rambling on and lose track of what I'm actually saying, I'll conclude this post with a final statement.
This is true, you do not need to respect him. However, you should remember that someone has died, their family will be devastated at the passing of him.I don't have to respect him as a human as that's not how I live my life but if that's how you feel then so be it. I have my opinion, you have yours.
