have you guys ever dealt with a plugin dev that doesnt want to show progress of development because he is scared that you might steal codes and chargeback. someone please explain everything wrong with this, this is also after getting paid what was agreed upon...

Ask him to show code snippets or send a video of it working. Not sure why he is refusing to show, seems suspect but maybe a first-time dev doing deals (or possibly scamming).
