So... My friends are joining my server tomorrow. Let's just say I want to make them suffer. One important part of my server involves not getting eaten by mobs, so obviously, you must place torches to prevent them from spawning. However, my friends are in for quite a surprise. Could we, let's say, take advantage of the server resource pack feature or some other manner in order to make it so when they place a torch, this edition of Justin Bieber's song turns on so loud to the point it blows up their ears?:
Also, if you'd be so kind, is it possible to make it so a list of users does not have to endure this pain?

I'd just like to know if this is possible. Doesn't mean I'm necessarily going to be this cruel to my friends.

Thanks, EddzGamez

It most certainly is possible. Custom resource pack, yes. And list of players who have to suffer, yes. You basically have to control who gets the custom server resource pack or not.

Step 1. Locate the torch place/other desirable sound effect through a copy of resources.
Step 2. Use WinFF or VLC to convert that video to the orbis (ogg) codec.
Step 3. Switch the sounds.
Step 4. ZIP the resource pack up.

Hmm, it appears I have a problem. I created the resource pack and it works fine on client side however when I try to provide the link on the server.properties file and restart my server, when I log on in it won't apply.

Are you linking it to a http url like http://example.com/your-resource.zip? The Minecraft protocol itself does not transfer the file, so don't put a filesystem link in server.properties.[DOUBLEPOST=1473243967][/DOUBLEPOST]If you need a website to host your resourcepack, consider github, you need to go through some setups though.

Correct. This is my link: http://download1497.mediafire.com/mb1apbsq6jyg/bkp5jfiek2613cq/ServerResourcePack.zip
I'll try Github though
Edit: Scratch that, too complicated xD

Thank you! :) However, it appears as if this is not the source of the problem. Whever I log in, it appears as if it is trying to download it. However, once it's like, for example, %13, it skips the download and doesn't show up on my resource packs. For some reason, when I tried the texture pack client side, it said that it was for an outdated version (God knows why). Could this be the source of the problem?

Imma look into the resource pack, what mc version is your server on?[DOUBLEPOST=1473341907][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh you need to unwrap the zip from inside the inner "JustinBieberTroll" so the files appear like.

Code:
ServerResourcePack.zip
-> assets
-> pack.mcmeta
instead of
Code:
ServerResourcePack.zip
-> JustinBieberTroll
| -> assets
| -> pack.mcmeta

I updated your resource pack, see if it works now. :)

Thank you, but sadly, it is not working. Here is a video on what's going on in game:

After a bit of digging I found this wiki article. The pack version just needs to be replaced with a 2, I'm gonna test it to make sure it works before I update again. :)

Edit: Got earraped. :( Works now and I updated it.

It may work in game, but for some reason it'snot working on the server; it simply refuses to download onto the client. Thank you for trying though.
