Kaboom Networks
____________________

Attention!
We've halted progress with Kaboom Networks. We had a fallout with our
development team and our funding has decreased exponentially.

We do have plans to launch in the future, however for now we'll be
focusing on other projects.

Thank you for your support.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

It's time for our first update, we made this post only a few days ago and so far your support has been tremendous! We've received over 200 applications between Moderator and Administrator positions, as well as an addition 46 Developer applications! We'll be reaching out to those who've applied and we will certainly be hiring many of the talented individuals.

Major Announcement: Our management team has made a detrimental decision for the server. We're going to be donating a large part of our donations and profits to a charity of the community's choice. Here is how it'll work:

The first week of every month we'll host a sale, usually between 35-50% discount. 100% of the proceeds from each sale will be given to that month's charity. We'll be donating under the name, "Kaboom Network's Community".

How will we choose a charity? The last week of every month, we'll post a poll to our twitter account. Each poll will list 4 charities of varying causes; the top 2 charities will be put into another poll, and the final winner of that poll will be the next month's charity.

Who will be the first? That's up to the MCM community. Below, you will find a hyperlink to a Google Forms. This link will direct you to a form where we'll ask for your opinion on the charity we should support first.

Thank you, for your support and your kind words. We cannot wait to release a server that not only provides a quality experience for those who play, but a cause that the entire community can get behind!

Charity Form

Lots of love,

Kaboom Owners

What gamemodes are you planning to have in the future?

We'll be starting out with a revamped skywars, we plan to offer a version in which we'll be able to compete with the top skywars networks out currently. In the future we'll expand into the world of mini-games.

The fuck?
Not even a 50-100 player network needs that much staff members.
Unless you have 300+ players (in which you don't) then I don't suggest this many staff, especially since the people filling in these positions will be new strangers!

At this time, you're right, we do not have a player base. This is due to us not being released, however with the partners we have been speaking with, and the marketing strategies we have implemented; our business analyst presumes we'll hit around 10,000 unique joins within our first week open to the public. Also, before the server is released, we'll need to train our staff. Our staff training program, written by our lead administrators, currently takes upwards of 2 weeks depending on prior knowledge and capabilities of each staff member.

What's the pay for Devs?
At the moment our current developers are working for a percentage of the company, each lead developer (1 at the time) receives 2% and each developer (2 at the time) receives 1%. Yes, this does seem low to the naked eye; However, this percentage has been designed to offer growth in company ownership, as well as personal motivation. Once we become more financially stable, we will be offering base pay for developers as a part-time job, and for lead developers a full time salary.

Is there any sort of guaranteed income for higher staff members?
I think you need a little bit more detail in the thread. For example, what Hugh67942 said etc.

At the moment we are roughly estimating a few thousand USD. However, with our prices for donations not figured out yet, as well as not having the percentage of the release sale figured out yet either, we can only make an rough estimate.

Payment is earned:
- Owners are all paid
- Lead Developers are given salary
- Developers are given part-time salary or 1% in company
- Lead Administrators start with 1% of the company, they can grow to 5-7%
- Administrators will not be paid
- Lead Moderators will not be paid
- Moderators will not be paid

o_0 Sounds cool, Hiring setup specialists?

No, we've hired sock as our Project Manager. However, all Lead Administrators are setup specialists or managers, so feel free to apply via the Administrator application! Yes, you will be doing similar things.

What does the "Cover Letter" mean? I tried applying on the link for the (Lead)Moderator and it says I have to add a file but I am unsure what file I am supposed to be adding. It does say Portfolio as the header, however, wouldn't that just require text of what servers we worked on and such?

A cover letter is a short summary/essay of your previous experiences, skills you possess, and potential assets that would intrigue the hiring committee. We expect every applicant to have a different idea of what to include in a cover letter, as in business, everyone has their own style. We do not judge on formatting, font, or any aesthetics; strictly content.

when do yuo check applications?

The hiring manager will go through them every Sunday, however due to the eclipse over North America this weekend application reviews have been postponed to next Sunday.
