I've been thinking of upgrading to a PC or a better laptop so I'm looking for an appraisal of the current one I have.

A refurbished (with HP approved and authorized parts) and cleaned out HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop that features an 8th gen i7 CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads of speeds up to 4.1 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology completed with 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB ).

Hard drive: 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA + 128 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
Display: (144 Hz Refresh Rate) 15.6" diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080).
External Ports: 1 HDMI; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 RJ-45; 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only).
Expansion Slots: 1 multi-format SD media card reader.
CPU Cache: 9 MB.
Webcam: HP Wide Vision HD Camera with integrated dual array digital microphone.
Keyboard: Full-size island-style backlit keyboard with numeric keypad.
Audio Features: B&O PLAY, dual speakers, HP Audio Boost, Realtek Audio.

I see that instant buys from companies are around $250 but when I go on amazon or ebay to see used ones, it seems like they are going for more than $1,200. So I'm really confused and any recommendations on where to sell it and how much its really worth is much appreciated. :)

If it doesn't have a gpu it won't be worth too much

Oh god, I really did forget to mention - there's an Nvidia 1060 in it.[DOUBLEPOST=1627840363][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'll keep that in mind, thanks. But it depends on my budget, lol.
From that I can tell you under $1000 for sure. Maybe even less than 800 but not sure

I work in the fixing/reselling electronics industry for a living. I can say that it really depends on who the buyer is. If I'm selling a laptop like that online and thus doing a generic listing I'd list it for about $600 for a quick sale but no more than $800.

Heres what I did: wait until I could afford roughly a $1800 PC (at the time) about 5 years ago. Still runs most games quite well and I am not looking to replace it, unless it just breaks. Saving up money for a strong PC is better than just buying a cheap PC now then having to buy or upgrade the PC later.[DOUBLEPOST=1630711801][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, also just realized this post was a month ago... My bad

What do you mean by "my bad" haha. I don't mind advice!

Yeah, that's a really good idea, hopefully, I can work towards it.
