Something that has been going through my mind has been the fact that people can leak your resources on other sites. I've been thinking, and there's no real good way to fix this. A method I did think of is below. Let me know if you agree or disagree, or have a completely new method that would work.

Keep in mind that this is mainly towards configurations, setups, and other non-jar based resources.

Have a feature to restrict certain users to purchase a resource by their reputation, messages, etc. This could help as ban evaders often join the website, buy a resource, chargeback, then leak it before ever getting banned. Limiting the purchase to users with a certain reputation could cut down on this. As a lot of resource purchasers are new users, this feature can be optional so that not everyone has to use it.

Your revenue would drastically decrease which isn't worth it for an anti-scam. An idea for developers would be Getting the author of when downloading and see using xenforo resource manager API to see if you've purchased it, the problem with that is someone can cancel the connection unless you make it so the plugin automatically disables

this will sound crazy but, imagine us getting like 80 different big developers off of spigotmc whos plugins got leaked on bsmc, and people from this site and literally send a bunch of reports with proof and take their site down for violation or some shit like that xD would be intense

More than 75% of my customers don't even have 1 rep. So I don't think this is a good idea.

Except you can't claim you made something on the internet without licensing etc.. which most people don't know how to do or don't have money for it.[DOUBLEPOST=1538682563][/DOUBLEPOST]

It's configurable, he may want to have just trustable clients. Something like drug dealers, someone's not gonna sell you a kg of cocaine before ordering 100 times of small amounts from him.

You having a different situation doesn't change the fact that this might stop his leaks and as this is a configurable feature this should not affect you.

I do see that perspective as those people contribute to your sales, but this is configurable so people who are selling things like Notifyz's core, which is expensive, can restrict the sale to only trustable members.

Problem is that someone would try to bypass it, most of the antileak ping something using a Socket (to make it somewhat harder) which can be easily bypassed by negating any outgoing pings to servers or using your firewall to block that socket

Or you know, we could try to take down the websites that leak the resources?

There will always be more that pop up the way I see it. There in all honesty, isn’t a way to completely get rid of leak sites. Or at least, keep up with the amount that get created. You also get leaks through media fire with YouTube videos regarding them and neither of those sites can get taken down for this.
My point being, the idea of having users be able to set who they want to be able to buy their resources is a way to lower the number of leaks that end up occurring.

Yes but for others like me, most of the people who purchase are new members. So it wouldn't really solve anything.
I'm not against it, as long as you can enable/disable it.

Also, competitor sites also pop up here and there. We technically can't do anything about them, but yet we do.
If we remove the biggest one (I think you which one) then the problem will be solved. Leaks are going to happen no matter what, but if we can stop a lot of them, then we win the battle a bit.

Right now that website is like a HUB for leaks. Without a hub, it'll be harder to find others leaks and/or leak in general.

to know exactly who leakers are, not sure if this is a thing already, but u should put a license agreement that updates itself with the buyer's mc-m name and hide it in some random folder.
may or may not be a stupid idea

This has been implemented to the site in the previous announcement, so I suppose I'll move this to accepted.

Thanks for the suggestion.
