Hello MC-Market.
I have been looking around the internet watching how many leak websites have my plugins on them. Let me say this before I get to the point of this post.
I DO NOT MIND LEAKING OF MY PLUGINS. I not 100% against the idea of leaking my plugins to users who cannot afford it, this allows them to get a taste of the plugin and 9/10 times many users end up purchasing my plugins for the support or just as a sort of repentance.

If you don't mind leaking then why are you making this post?
I have recently come across websites in which the hosts of the websites are charging money for my plugins... You are required to have a subscription to download the plugin.
I am really annoyed by this as how are they making money off someone else hard work and still sleeping at night, I am down for free leaks but paid ones. Come on...

I know there are going to be a couple of people who are using my plugins in a leaked form or maybe they even own the sites I am talking about. If you are going to do that at least send us a small tip lol.

It may seem to people that I make a ton of money from my plugins so I don't need it but come on, hard work is hard work. I don't update my plugins daily/weekly for someone else to be making money off of it.

I did notice that someone at a certain leaked site left a link to the actual plugin in the thread. I really do appreciate that and thank you for adding that if you are reading.

In conclusion, I'm not against the act of leaking my plugins but I just ask that websites that do it not make money off of it. It's unfair and just overall scummy.

On another note, if you are using leaked versions of my plugins. Please do not pm me asking for support... It's just a waste of my time, especially when you message me at 3 am and you don't even fucking own the plugin.

I'm no dev but as a content creator it sucks a lot when someone uses your work without credit; I can't imagine how frustrating it is for someone else to make money off of it without your permission.

Hope you're able to get them taken off of these subscription websites!

If you read the post, I said I don't mind my plugins being leaked. Plus SpigotMC doesn't allow it.
This makes no sense, you dont care if your plugins are leaked but also you care if they are leaked and sold but you wont do anything about it because theres a chance they wont be sold?

Dude you're way overcomplicating the situation.

1. Splodgebox obviously cares about their release platform SpigotMC. They can't do anything there.
2. The leaks are there but the complaint is in the fact the leaks are monetised, not free.
3. Doing a license system would be redundant regardless.

I DO NOT MIND LEAKING OF MY PLUGINS.
If you’re not going to fight against the leaks of your products, then why don’t you post an official free version which gets delayed releases and no product support?
By doing this, you’d be ensuring that the scum making money off of your products aren’t making money off of your products anymore. It’s not just a mater of it being something worth stopping either. By taking away from their subscription/adsense profits, you discourage them or at least aren’t enabling them to expand and continue doing the same acts of theft to your fellow creators.
You would also be ensuring that the potential buyers trying your plugin aren’t being infected with malware injected into the products by the leakers.

Not every creator is like you, in that they don’t care if their product is leaked. Many developers need every dollar to afford their apartments, their insurance, their bills, their university books. People underestimate just how expensive it is to live and make progress in the world. They’re actively fighting to get their products taken down because they need to in order to afford to continue creating content.
If you’re someone who doesn’t care, then I strongly encourage you not simply allow it to continue happening, and fight the leaks by making the product(s) public, with restrictions.

Um.. well the whole reason I don't pay the site to take it down is because you lot made a rule saying I would get banned for doing just that lol

I'm not going to release my plugin for free.. in the post I state that leaked plugins lead to people who end up buying the plugin for support etc.

I never suggested paying the leak site to take it down. I would never suggest this. That only helps the enemy.

That’s why I suggested delayed releases and NO SUPPORT for your official free version. They would need to purchase a license for support. Inform me of what the benefit is to letting leak sites post the product(s) for free, instead of you doing it and not offering support?

If I'm being honest, I used to mind alot but at this point there is nothing you can do.

Developers who release free versions of premium plugins tend to see a decrease in sales. A friend of mine called Brianna (owner of [Censored]) told me herself its a bad idea to release free versions as she used to

I don't support all leaking, I'm just not 100% against the leaking of my plugins

Do I want people to leak my plugins?
No but I'm not going to try take it down, not worth my time

Should leakers be fisted?
Yes 100%

Difference between myself 'leaking' it, is people know it's wrong to use leaked plugins and then tend to buy the plugin when they can afford it.

Plus... the first time my plugin was leaked and it stressed me a ton was mainly because of your standing against leakers post :/
