Yes I've tried that but idk anyone but thenewboston. And everyone says he is crap.

He isn't "bad", you will just learn bad practice. Best way imo, is buying a book and learning through that. I heard "java for dummies 8th edition" is good.

He doesn't have bad practices, his tutorials (java) were made a while ago so that's why some don't like using his tuts. I read Java for dummies and it was great. If you can afford it, https://teamtreehouse.com/tracks is a great resource as well.
