Hello!

I've begun thinking of (and potentially starting) a fairly ambitious project. I don't expect the server setup itself will take too long, but just the implementation of it will be a heavy load. I'm mainly looking for collaborators, advice, or just help essentially.

The Idea
I want to implement a fully functioning mock-government into a Minecraft server. If you're at all into this space, you'd realize that most Mock Governments are ran either through Reddit, Private Forums, or Discord -- all text-based platforms. This makes it easy, yes, but very boring after a while (as there is no "tangible goods"). The Minecraft world would be the actual "country," where players interact, build infrastructure and manage resources in accordance with laws all the while participating in a simulated democracy.

My Vision:
  • A Minecraft-first experience: The Minecraft world/server itself would be the "nation" and its territory. Players (citizens) can build homes, businesses, factories, whatever really. But Government rules and regulations shape gameplay.
  • A Discord-based "backend": The Discord server would be responsible for a majority of the civics and politics. It'll host the lore, world building, and most importantly, most government functions (The judiciary, legislature, etc). But, all things done within the Discord server would be tied directly to the Minecraft server as well (ie laws passed, ordinances, etc).
  • A functioning political system meant to replicate real-world governments on a smaller, more easily digestible scale:
    • Executive offices (President, Prime Minister, Chancellor + Cabinet officials, etc).
    • A Legislature responsible for passing bills, regulations, etc.
    • A Judicial system meant to handle disputes, punishments, appeals, etc.
  • An economy, primarily operated through in-game resources instead of a Fiat currency (Diamonds, Gold, Emeralds, etc). Can be stored virtually for safekeeping as well.

Essentially, a semi-vanilla SMP that isn't governed by staff or ownership, but by the players truly. Staff will exist to implement regulations, allow for investigations, etc.

Where You Come In:
If you have political knowledge, interest, or just want to be involved in the creation of a Minecraft server, feel free! I mainly need help with advertising, setup, and whatnot. I am competent in most areas (save for advertising) and have the funds necessary for a project like this. I do not intend for this to grow into a network-esque server and would like to keep it relatively small (whitelist, very community-focused), but this can change based on the elections and whatnot.

What I Do:
I can provide the hosting, some funding (all if necessary), and technical knowledge to get this done. I have experience creating light-weight plugins and in server setup.
