Lengthen The Cooldown For Speaking in Shoutbox

Make the cooldown a little bit longer I would say 2 seconds or 2.5 seconds that way there is a lot less spam and more advertisements can show up

Because you are never on when you put an advertisement on and someone sends a message like this and it goes out of the view in 4 seconds

That's why you tell people to DM you... It's not that big of a deal in my opinion.

If you're putting an ad in the SB then either tell people to DM you or reply to a thread, that fixes the problem stated above.

I feel as if it'd be annoying, sometimes if you make a mistake or want to add something it can be handy to have a low cooldown to just type it quickly. Either way I think that its not that big of a deal and I would prefer the MC-Market staff to work on other things which have to be fixed/changed.

I don't think that will do much.. something that would fix spamming is changing the amount of messages a person can send in a row.

That is a stupid thing to add. A cooldown would be so much better.

Because if people need to send consecutive messages (that are obviously not spam) then it would inhibit their ability to do that. With a cooldown, you don't inhibit the ability to do that, and you give everyone a chance to speak.

I get your point but would a 2.5s cooldown fix spamming? People could still flood the chat quite easily.

It would aim to discourage the spamming, rather than completely prevent. But you have to remember Chat Moderators are there to help prevent spam, too.

I don't think that the cooldown has ever been changed from what it currently is set to.

If someone is spamming in the shoutbox then please report them. Generally we're pretty lenient with people flooding the chat with messages, and I even do it sometimes, but if someone does it too much then a staff member will handle it.

I see no reason to make chatting more difficult for everyone because someone occasionally spams.
