It has come to the staff member's attention regarding the strictness that has been going on recently within the ShoutBox. We would like to know what you, the community, think regarding this and the leniency within the ShoutBox.

We will still be punishing users who break the rules, but we want to know where the leniency should be given. However, we will still be strict on serious offenses.

How lenient do you want the staff member's to be?
Please be constructive and informative as I am merely trying to get an insight into how the community wants us to be when it comes to shoutbox punishments.

I once got kicked from the shoutout box for discussing a movie.
Let that sink in.

Lol well I’d like to not be warned for parodying what someone else said because you want a promotion. How about back off and actually do your job rather than warning people who aren’t doing anything wrong

It’s very common for people to overdo stuff when they get a new position, but then after a while, they tend to get used to it and be more reasonable about things. It’s because they want to show their abilities and prove themselves, but oftentimes it ends up being too much. It’s important to realize that not always telling someone to do this or do that, is completely okay. Sometimes there just isn’t much that needs to be done and that’s perfectly fine. It’s best to act when something is needed, rather than looking for any slight thing to pin a warning on.

Sometimes things are so minor that they really don’t matter and constantly being on everyone’s case about it will just come off as annoying and will result in people being less inclined to chat. There is no need to send a robotic-looking message over every small thing someone does.

I haven’t seen this be a problem a while ago, it’s really odd. Like recently I saw someone being told off for saying “nigga” in chat. Next thing you know, “heck” won’t be allowed.

Well if this was posted a bit before I would've written 10 paragraphs but I'm close to my end now...

There is no need to use such word.
Indeed black community might use it on daily basis, however keep it between you and the people you talk to.

Otherwise a loads of conflicts appears when somebody uses n words.
Should base it on the actual use of the word

It’s definitely better to have the staff team administer punishments when a rule has actually been broken but to over police the chat for every little nit picky detail will just lead to people not using the shout box
