About a month we had a security breach, simply due to problems with simple file permissions. After investigating further into the situation, it was something we over-looked due to tunnel vision, and never considered, due to it being such a simple task that should have been solved during the setup of Multicraft on our nodes.

As we had a backup system in place we were able to recover most of our client's files (we were able to recover all Minecraft nodes but one).

The problem has now been fixed, and we've have invested a lot into our security and backend systems to ensure that this or anything similar, will happen again. Here are just a few of the changes we've made to ensure this:
  • We've added an extra backup location, which runs along side our main one. We have both systems backup daily, and they keep backups available for restore for 7 days. This ensures that everything on our network will never be lost, including and most importantly client's files.
  • We've hired a dedicated System Administrator, who is proactively adapting our systems to ensure a high level of security and performance is maintained.
  • Now have a script for the installation of Multicraft on our nodes, this script allows us to setup nodes easily, quickly and securely. As it's a script, it factors out human error, so that no steps are missed, especially steps which secure our nodes.

I can admit that we made vital mistake, however we've came through and adapted our systems to allow us to provide secure and high quality services to our valued customers.

Vouch for Lethal - I host a few servers with them and I've never had any real problems they couldn't solve.

Are these servers VPS?

Do you have a test server? If so, how much ram is on it and where is it hosted?

They are Minecraft servers, which have a dedicated amount of RAM and a shared processor hosted within Multicraft.
At the moment we do not have a test server, however we do have test IPs (see OP) - we will be setting up test servers very soon.
