Let's talk about game panels

Right now it seems like the main panels used by MC servers are MultiMC, Multicraft, MCMyAdmin, and Pterodactyl. What's your favourite, and why? If you don't have one - do you think there is much difference between them, and how much have you used these panels?

Are there any good game panels I'm not mentioning?

MultiMC is just a client, so I assume you mean Multicraft. Multicraft is okay, I think the interface is fairly avearge, and it does most things you'd want a game panel to do. A fairly avearge game panel. McMyAdmin isn't too bad either, bit expensive though £10 per MC server. Pterodactyl on the otherhand is free, and open source, which usually means it's not as good as the closed source, pay for options, but that isn't true in this case. It has more features, looks nicer, and arguably more secure by design, as it uses docker contains for each of the servers. It even has an Android and IOS app on the way. So overall in my opinion, Pterodactyl is the better panel.

Personally I prefer Pterodactyl as it's open source so I can edit it to how I want it, and I've had more experience using it

How important is the open source to you? Would you consider trading it for extra features & much easier setup/install process, or is it a critical thing to you?

Anyway, I personally prefer Pterodactyl Panel. Multicraft is also a really good control panel. I can't really comment on the others since I've had little to no experience with them.

I'm assuming you use Ptero from the perspective of running a company, too - which is particularly interesting. Do you have any main reasons you could mention why you use Pterodactyl over Multicraft - or is it just what you use?

Multicraft is better for use, but pterodactyl looks so much nicer compared to it.

How do you mean "better for use"? It's easier to navigate or something?

Pterodactyl overall has a better look to it, if you like the way multicraft looks, you can change the format to it, as everything is open source, it can fit a theme for your server and so on.
Most hosts use Pterodactyl, therefore, many users are more experienced with it.

You're right, and that is something I've thought about. I also wanna know how other people feel about it

I would assume he’s referring to the plugin manager and default features which multi craft has and ptero doesn’t. However with effort and dedication you can make pterodactyl identical to multi craft and better.

I think I know what you're getting at, and I think I agree. A level of toxic behaviour has developed in the management team which I've been recognising more & more. I'm planning to bring it up at the meeting tomorrow.

I know this is a bit off topic, and it might seem silly, but your reply really means a lot, and I appreciate it. When you put it like that, it makes me aware it needs more attention without going full-on assault on everything we do. We'll try to improve, I promise, but that's enough words - actions speak louder.
