Hello,

My Client purchased one of my resources long time ago (few months ago), today he wanted to download latest version and when he tried to do so, it showed for him 'License is inactive: Contact seller'. After that, I tried to edit his license by unchecking 'License Active' saving it, then checking it again but it didn't work. Lastly I tried making his License temporary (lasting from yesterday to year 2032nd) but neither that worked.

P.S. Now I tried to delete his license and to give it to him again, I deleted it but now when I try to add it again it say's that he already has one but he don't ()

This is an issue with some of the software we had redeveloped for XF2 to handle our licensing system.
The developer in charge will have a patch ready for us tomorrow.

If, for whatever reason, tomorrow is too much of a wait. Feel free to message me and I will personally activate your licenses for you.

This transition to XF2 has definitely been a bumpy one, but the team is committed to ironing out each remaining issue one by one. Bare with us please.

Just an update. Thanks to the help of all of our authors who put forward their circumstances where a license wasn’t behaving as expected, we were able to get a full understanding of exactly what went wrong with how licenses were being handled by our current system. Documentation for a fix was provided to the developer in charge and as promised, a patch was received just a few hours ago.

Unfortunately, due to timezone differences and me wanting to be extra sure that the new version is perfect, I was unable to complete testing of his patch before he had to get offline, and I’ve since discovered that it introduces a new issue which we cannot introduce to the live-site, so I won’t be able to upload this patch for public use, in its current form.

Once he’s woken up, we should be able to finalize the last stretch of testing and get it uploaded for everyone. I really do apologize for taking so long.
Again, do message me if you need a license manually activated. I don’t want anyone to have to wait, and am happy to help.

Will the new update fix everything automatically or will we still have to deal with the problem ourselves, having to remove the license and put it again?

For all XF1 purchases where the user previously had access, this patch will immediately grant them access again.

There was a small stretch of time between the end of XF1 and XF2 where PayPal started holding our authors payments and delaying sending us a "purchase complete" IPN until they’d cleared the payment, which resulted in some licenses not being immediately activated. We changed that so that licenses activated as soon as the payment is sent, rather than after it clears, but because held payments at that time were already sent, we still needed to receive a "purchase complete" IPN to activate those already sent payments. However, due to our downtime for the migration, we may have missed a few of those remaining IPNs and so licenses which should have been activated during our downtime will need to be manually activated.

The patch changes the visibility of non-validated licenses so that they are visible to authors, and our authors are able to manually activate any licenses which didn’t get confirmed while we were down.

Hey, thank you for all informations, appriciate that, just one more question, is manual license granting fixed in that patch?

Absolutely. The current problem with manual license granting is simply that resource authors can only see licenses which were validated by PayPal or granted themselves. They can’t see licenses which are awaiting validation, which means you can’t manually edit the license and confirm it yourself, nor can you add a new license because they already have a one awaiting validation. The patch ensures that all licenses, including non-validated licenses, are visible to the author for editing.

Resource licenses have been fixed!

All licenses which were respected on XF1 are now being respected on XF2, so your past buyers should definitely have access.
Moreover, rather than displaying all invalid licenses to the author, we decided to instead allow our authors to manually grant a new license, ignoring invalidated ones. This should resolve the issue many of you were seeing with being told that the user already had a license.

As previously mentioned, there are a few licenses which may not be automatically verified due to issues with receiving an IPN from PayPal. Just a reminder that this has been mitigated for all future purchases by granting the license as soon as the purchase happens, rather than after after the payment clears, but select past licenses which were never verified may still require manual verification. Our changes to the manual licensing should ensure there’s no problems with handling that.

Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding as we made these changes. We’ll continue to iron out any hidden bumps that remain until our XF2 platform is everything we envision it can be.
