This is funny, why does my rating mean shit? Rating also counts as likes or agreements, which could come from you making a good point or something else. The whole rating section isn't just for vouches nor did I ask for vouches.
I agree with the first sentence; we definitely cannot assume you did it for the reputation (I'm sure that you didn't).

As for the second sentence, I must disagree with that. Reputation on MCM comes directly from the amount of positive ratings, and as "likes" count as positive ratings, you gain "reputation" (however volatile that may be).
I'll address your former post and this post. One, you asked for a "like rating". There's really no point in asking for a "like" rating unless you wanted to further your reputation as a "nice" person on this site. I'm pretty sure you didn't give it out just for the good of the community, otherwise there wouldn't be a catch of "please like this post" or any of that BS I see.

Secondly, vouch ratings are definitely a form of reputation. However, when you post something, people notice the green number right below your name. If it's small, they're going to go to a person with a higher number of this strange green number. If you have the high number, they're going to go with you.

Reputation is all relative to how people like you and the opinions they have on you. Because you asked for a "like", one may assume clearly that you want people to like you.

All we can do is to alert new members that rating is not a measure of trust or whatever. The only benefit of these things is that green number getting bigger(which you yourself have seem to have amassed a ton of). If these guys already have an active scam report, that's a different matter entirely, but in the meantime, what's wrong with giving stuff away for a green number?

The fact that most people look at the green number and base it off they should trust that person, and for their rep. I'm not gonna let anyone deny it, that's what 80% of people do and think.
Some people are doing it for ratings, some aren't. I don't think we need to care, unless they are scammers trying to get high ratings to make it look like they don't scam. Simple as that. If it is a trustworthy person doing a giveaway, they wouldn't do it just for rating, because they get them without a giveaway. If it is someone not trustworthy, then, that is a time to take action.
1) Out of all people, you shouldn't really be posting here.
2) Read the thread again.

It doesn't really make sense why it matters when only one of the ratings is "Vouch". Trust is based on a vouch thread. What's the point of even having that section when apparently all members look at a green number and decide on how trustworthy a person is? If 80%(making up statistics is cool) of the community practices this, according to you, why would you not allow anyone to deny it, because apparently 20% don't?

Honestly I think you have a conflict of interest and wish to make your personal rating score so much more valuable than these members who are actually giving some wealth back into the community.

Maybe he made this thread only to get ratings of his own, just in a different way.
1) I already have more than enough ratings tbh, I'm ranked #4 in ratings, and I don't see myself going any higher than that any time soon.
2) If I really wanted more ratings, I wouldn't have made something like this, I would have joined the bandwagon on giveaways and would have given more stuff away too.
3) The "statistic" wasn't really made up, many people base most of their opinions off the ratings.
4) I've talked to most of the people who've complained about this, and they're all perfectly fine with this after a small talk. Not sure what you have against me, I don't even know who you are, but okay? I'm simply trying to help members not be misled by people who seem trustworthy or reputable do their ratings, if you really wanted to just give back to the community without anything for your own benefit, you wouldn't have asked for the "likes".

Not everyone who has an opposing viewpoint has a vendetta against you. By making some ridiculous list of "rep-buyers" you admit yourself that you believe rating is how a member should be judged for trust. Your rating is also irrelevant as my argument is that you wish to invalidate those that have made a more valid contribution than you have. And your entire purpose is flawed as there is literally a section named "Vouches" where members put threads for vouches.

And yes your statistic is made up. What's your sample size? Your polling method? Oh wait, you didn't do any such type of actual polling and opted to make up a random number in your head.

It's also possible to display the "Vouches Received" (https://u.uxs.us/Aif) in the "message user info" area under the "Ratings Received", but that would be up to Verringer ;)

Actually, I have had a customer purchase a factions setup from me rather than someone else simply because I had more green.
Well then that's one out of how many number of members. Not 80%.

This is a cool list, and I appreciate the idea, but it is just illogical to blacklist certain peoples names such as my own to potential buyers. Even though you said that the people on this list aren't scammers, do you think that people won't think less of us because of this list? I think that like Jack said, you should look at a persons vouches, not their likes/agrees. It should be legal to get people to like your post for a giveaway, but not vouch.

Oh boy, you got me. I'm the worlds biggest scammer for giving away an account.

That was an example. I can show you multiple others who I've worked with that have trusted me due to my number of ratings.
I never look at the likes or anything else before a trade, always the vouches.
Severely doubt that, but if you believe that, its fine to me.

As I've said before, it clearly states that if a person is on the list, it doesn't mean you shouldn't deal with that person or anything, it's there to help make sure that people don't get midlead or scammed by the number of positive ratings they have when they just got it from doing a giveaway. Thanks for taking it in a positive attitude by the way. :)

If people are as dumb as you say they are, and they think that high rating = high reputation, then they are also dumb enough to think that being on this list = scammer / do not deal with.

I'd just suggest removing this thread and instead only posting bad rep reports about people who actually deserve it.
