Kinda like the Live Conversations feature for Supreme I think there should be one for threads.

I mean, live conversations are great and should be treated like live chat, but we are a forum first and foremost. If we allowed supreme to have live chat styled forum threads, it would turn into a gigantic chatbox instead of well thought out forum post replies.

No it wouldn't, it would make things nicer and easier to watch a thread. You could say the same thing about conversations, but they're really not, in my honest opinion. Also, a lot of people waste their time posting low quality content - this isn't going to make a difference at all, whatsoever.

The respective addon for this addition is https://xenforo.com/community/resources/sonnb-live-thread.1479/, however it is unmaintained like most XenForo 1.X addons.

I don't think that this is really necessary, especially considering a thread will automatically update to say that there have been more posts since you originally opened the thread. While this could be a somewhat decent quality-of-life improvement in specific situations, it's not enough utility to justify the custom development it'd require.
