Longer Shoutbox for BB Code

Make it so if we want to use BB code in shoutbox we can write bbcode but it doesn't affect the chars already put there.

Wouldn’t be too hard to implement, however there is still a need for a set character limit to prevent abusing it and making [b][/b] x 1,000,000

Have the limit for text, not formatting.

I was thinking on the lines of having two limits, one for everything and one strictly for text. We of course can’t have a billion BbCodes without text in them to avoid limits.

I’m not against this idea. I wouldn’t even be against the idea of increasing the character limit for regular messages.

We’re starting to get enough moderators to keep an eye on chat constantly. Should it be abused, we can deal out the appropriate punishments.

I personally like the idea, and perhaps a bbcode drop down so it auto fills in for you etc? As idk about you but idk all the bbcode that can be used.

BB code drop down/auto fill would be really helpful in and of itself

After further consideration and a few other suggestions being made about this, I have changed my mind about implementing this feature to the site. Users having to decide between the mix of content/formatting in their advertising is a pretty good way of ensuring that they can either have fancy icon-ey ads or content-heavy messages.

Plus, custom development time is always limited.
