As far I'm concerned, the OP is very unprofessional and was outright disrespectful on another person's thread, accusing someone of scamming with no hard evidence. I can't say I'd recommend dealing with this guy, as he isn't as mature as what he is looking for himself.
Minecraft servers aren't a business, also you'r 16 so you are saying you stay home all day, don't leave anywhere, don't go to school?
It honestly depends. Mineplex is a Minecraft server, but it's a business. Any server with a decent playerbase that's bringing in revenue is a business, whether or not you choose to think of it as one.

When I had owned my server originally it had almost 40 players. Got it to that and 500$ in the first month. I sold it due to needing to pay for the medical bills. Sold it for $800 and then the owner I guess fucked up the entire server. Got it to 2 players average. Now I recently found out it was sold to a new owner. I helped him gain the PLAYERBASE back to 15 players. Then he decided to give it to me to keep and grow the server again so lately I found out it was either him or the old owner but they grieved the spawn. So I myself have no time to fix this mess due to football practice and school. The server once it hits about 5 players then all players come back online and it hits around 15-23 players once they see it. They are extremely loyal and such. I believe last month it made over 300$ if I am not mistaken
