Hey there! I've owned and been operating a Minecraft server from September 2014 onward. Over the years, I've managed to get a pretty firm grasp on most aspects of things when it comes to MC servers - building, plugin development, configuration, system administration, web design, graphic design, so on and so forth.
However, despite running this server consistently for 8 years, I have completely failed to build a sizable player base. Most of the time, my server generally sits at 0 players online. I've got a semi-active Discord server where most of the regulars talk and chat, but the MC server itself only briefly manages to hold respectable player counts.
Over the years, there's been a few times where we've had 10-ish players online consistently-ish for a week or two, but it's always dropped back down - and while I've managed to crack everything else, when it comes to the key aspect of getting people to play, I have failed.
I've tried Reddit posts, YouTube videos, voting incentives, ranks for playing after a while, adding different gamemodes, and so on.
I'm looking for someone who's had experience building up sizable player bases (I don't necessarily mean hundreds or thousands, but if you have such experience that'd be great too). If you have such experience, I'd like to talk to you a bit, have you come on the server, get a feel for things as an end-user, and just help me figure out what it is I'm doing wrong. I don't know if the issue is new player experience, a simple lack of advertisement, or some other issue that I simply cannot see.
I am of course willing to pay for this, which we can discuss if you're interested.
If you can help me in my plight, hit me up on Discord at haloman30#8798.
