Looking for a host for a faction server, capable to hold about 500 players.
500 players on 1 server isnt a good idea. Even large factions servers like cosmicpvp cap the player count for each server quite a bit less than that. If you really do need space for 500, 2 x 250 player factions servers with a bungeecord would be alot better.

In any case, you need a dedicated server if you're looking at 200+ players. (i7 6700k or better + 64GB RAM) would be needed for a 500 player factions server. Even then, lag could still be a problem. 500 people along with TNT cannons, PVP and everything else that goes on in factions, is a real strain on any CPU. Minecraft is mostly single threaded which really doesnt help either.

But first consider if you really are going to need space for 500 players. Most people way way over estimate how many their server will get.

I would say you use ''Minecraft Hosting Pro'' it's a really cheap and good host :D I am using that right now for my Server!

No, specs are good, but really not cost effective at $10 per GB. He would be spending $320 a month just for 32GB RAM. (Which is how much each node they have can hold if I rememeber correctly) Even their best dedi, is only 32GB along with an E3. Which isnt ideal for a 500 player server. A highend i7 would be far better than their E3 (Link) Asides the most they do in 1 plan is 6GB, might get upto 32 by contacting them though. But again, not a good way to go about this.

They are a good host, but dont offer plans larger than 10GB. Might be okay for around 100, but not really 500.

If you have the money behind you to be able to afford advertising to get 500 players (Even a .org slot that costs $1000's wouldn't really get you that on its own). Then you have the funds you need for a dedicated server. In that case go with something like this: https://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/game/171mc4.xml

Its equipped with one of the best CPU's if not the best for Minecraft hosting along with enough RAM to cope with 500 players. Just make sure your plugins arent too resource intensive though. If they are. Get 2 and make a 2 server network.
