Hello, currently, I am searching for around five like-minded individuals who are interested in creating a community-oriented Minecraft server.

THE IDEA

My idea is simple, first, I want the server to community oriented. I do not care much for a large player base or things of that nature. Rather, I would like the player to be able to join and feel as if it is their home away from home. I also wish to appeal to more than one demographic, in the sense of having more than one 'mode' on the server.

EXECUTION

The main mode would be factions but without the raiding and killing. I want it to encourage mingling between the players of the factions, which would also encourage a fully player ran economy rather than just creating a shop. It would be a PVE experience, that being said the people who would want to PVP will have their own game mode. The way I see it is there are two solutions, solution one being that we create an arena in which PVP is enabled so the players could settle any rivalries. Solution number two being we create a whole separate world in which raiding, PVP, and just your basic faction server operations.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS

The server would not only consist of those types of game modes but also things like mini-games and creative. These things would come later as I think it would be inappropriate to introduce so many options to players without a player base, which would cause the player base to disperse into all these game modes, which in essence would kill the community aspect. This would remain like this until the player base became strong enough to support multiple game modes for the players.

CONCLUSION

This is, in a nutshell, what I would like to attempt and achieve. I also realize in order to execute this properly it would require more than one person, which is obviously the reason I am posting this to the forums. I would prefer people with the same goals, those goals being a community rather than a large player base. I am of course open to opinion but I would like to stick with the general goal of the community first and apply to most, if not all players.

I would also like to add, there would be no 'owner' and 'co-owner' system, all players who 'found' the server would simply be admins. All of us would have the same powers and access to most things. Some things will be limited to just a select few, as nothing can be completely open, an example being payment details/logins.

Some clarification on the ranking system, there absolutely will be ranks within the server. However, the title of owner will not be used in-game, as I feel it has a less inviting connotation than admin. The owners will have the most power, and there will be regular admins. When regular admins come into the picture, the owners would be separated with the tag of senior admin.

The way I see it, the more time you put into something, the more you become attached to it and are less likely to give up or want to cause it harm. I feel like this is a good standard to go by as we built trust within our group and ensure that all of us are compatible and dedicated.

I appreciate your time reading this and I hope that we, as a team, can accomplish this.
