Hi, I'm a Java Developer looking for suggestions to help build a portfolio, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well you could always offer free plugins in plugin development for a while and build your portfolio from that

no, don't offer free plugins, either sell small plugins or make plugins with your own idea and upload them for free or a small amount.

dont give out free plugins, people will just take advantage of you, someone tried to make me do a plugin that would cost around 90 for free since he thought i was a new dev lmfao

LOL, but yeah, you could also always apply to be a developer on a server i guess but I guess the safest option is to make plugins with ya own idea.

vegemite.club , not sure how experienced you are but start contacting small servers whether it be directly on discord or on MCMarket. You will get reputation and continue to grow to get opportunities on these big servers.

You can do the following to improve bringing in more tickets & sales:
- Get custom thread designs made for yourself and post them on MCMarket.
- Create a public discord to process orders, or a website.
