I’m hosting a 1.8 classic PvP/minigame server and the gameplay always feels delayed no matter what I do. Even players with low, stable ping feel input delay, rods sometimes hang when you throw them, and random micro-freezes during fights.
TPS stays at 20, CPU usage is low, and Spark doesn’t show anything useful. I’ve already tried pretty much everything:
Same results on every setup, so it’s clearly not a simple hosting or jar issue. I just want smooth 1.8 PvP, but something feels off no matter what I use.
If anyone experienced with PvP servers can help me diagnose and fix this, I’m paying.
PM me or drop your Discord.

- multiple dedicated servers & VPS providers
- different server jars (ImanitySpigot3, PandaSpigot, Carbon, normal Spigot, etc.)
- different Java versions (8, 11, 17, 21, etc.)
- multiple Linux distros (currently on Ubuntu 24)
- checked plugins, timings, network stats, configs, etc.
