Hi! I am looking for someone who actually knowing what you are doing when it comes to server technical admin stuff. And I really need some quick guidance. If you can, you don't have to do anything for me. but just teach me how do to do something. If you really need some payment I will try my best to pay for info and help.

Recently I bought a fully Dedicated server on OVHcloud for about $120USD-ish, for my Minecraft server, it came with 32 GB of ram and a i7-7700k (4.2Ghz) CPU. My server averages many many people a day. 40 - 70 people a day on a Minecraft 1.16.4 server (which already isn't very friendly to servers) so I am trying to overclock the CPU to about 4.7 - 4.8 (Ghz) or even more than that. which I know for sure the i7-7700k is more than capable of. to get as much power out of the CPU that I paid so much for to handle as many players as possible.

So I contacted OVH support to ask if this is something I can go about doing. and this is their response.

Hello,

Apologize for the delay in response.

We did check with internal team on this and received below update.

"We do not do overclocks anymore. But the customer can use the IPMI (if it's an OVH Customer) and overclock the server himself from the BIOS using the KVM/ IPMI".

Kindly,Let me know if you have any concern will be happy address you."

so they DO allow overcloking. but users have to do it Manually.
Ok, so off I went to try this and and I never did something like this before.

But for the life of me I still can't seem to overclock the CPU in BIOS of the server through IPMI no matter what I do.
I already managed to access the BIOS using IPMI but was not able to change anything meaningful in the BIOS there. core clock ratio or anything. and I asked OVH cloud again I haven't heard from them few days since then. The server still boots and I still run my server normally at a lower clockspeed on the CPU but I feel like it could be MUCH better than this and I want to get my moneys worth. I feel like its something I am doing wrong in the IPMI BIOS settings. It would be a miracle if someone who actually knows what they are doing could show me the way.

If you can't I hope you can refer or recommend me to someone who can, Please and thank you.
