Heyo! DocDrewskii here! Well, to keep it short and sweet, I am making a new gamemode for my minecraft server. You may ask, what is this gamemode? The gamemode that I am creating is called “SkyRaids”, there was a server in 2015 that came up with the concept but it was poorly executed and made. I am talking about new and improved! It plays like a Skyblock server but also gives the competitive feel of a Factions server with a island raiding system. I would like to have yalls feedback on the questions, comments and concerns that yall may have while pursuing this gamemode and developing this plugin. Below is a list of what the gamemode has;
Island Duplication System - This is to prevent griefing of the actual island. It creates an exact replica of the island in a separate world. Within this world, Mob Spawning is disable, Commands are Disabled, and Items in chests do not duplicate.
Balanced Raiding - Raiding is balanced by being able to raid those within a similar amount of island value. Not only that, but aswell as a similar online member count.
Island Core Chunk - All value blocks must be placed in the core chunk to count towards the islands value count. This prevents users from placing spawners in impossible areas and sporadically around the island
Raiding Preparation Phase: Members are given a 5 minute warning to prepare themselves and do /is raid join if they want to participate in the raid. Only members in the attacking and defending islands can join raids.
War Preparation Phase: Members are given 15 minutes to raid and ransack an island for its value, in that time, the defenders must try to stop the attackers by killing them.
Lives System: Both attackers and Defenders get a set amount of lives in the raid. If a user runs out of lives, they go into spectator mode and cannot participate in the raid any further. Additionally, All items that were mined by the user who ran out of lives are forfeited and considered null, so the defending island does not lose value.
Dupe Prevention: A copy of the players inventory is saved before the war, all items that are non value blocks do not get transferred over, when a user mines a value block; it goes into the war spoils GUI
War Spoils: A GUI that pops up at the end of the war, that gives the user the value blocks that they mined.
After War Phase: After the war is over, it compares the islands value blocks and checks which ones are missing, whatever ones are missing get removed within a 5 minute period to where the user of the defending island cannot travel back to their island.
