My recommendation depending on the server size would be to buy a dedicated server, even though this may seem a lot harder for you to use having experience in setting up servers could help you in the future with jobs, etc.
If you’re only trying to host a server to have fun with friends I’d recommend just searching for the cheapest options, maybe pebble as somebody else suggested.
