Hi,

I have always wanted to own/start a Minecraft server, but have never known where to start. I hope I can get some help.

Looking for: A practice server with a small playerbase (not needed) that can be grown. I would like it to be set up seeing as I'm not educated in starting servers.

Why: I used to be a competitive factions and hcf player, but have recently out-grown those gamemodes. I'm looking to add a money prize combined with PvP practice.

Budget: Around $100 - $150 (flexible)

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If you're looking to start a decent server with success, you're going to need a much larger budget - easily in the thousands - as $100 isn't even going to pay for decent ads for two hours. The most I'd spend on a server set-up is $10 since most are low quality. You're honestly better off doing it yourself and exploring the spigot and bukkit plugin page; save the $150 for small youtubers and a spawn.

Start off setting everything up on vps, then buy a dedi, switch to the dedi, link a domain with it, pay for adds, ez done.
