This suggestion is to try to limit exit scamming. I believe the reason people are able to exit scam is because they are able to remove their posts in the Loans section. Here is why I think it might help limit exit scamming; a reputable user can just make a thread to get a loan, get it, remove it then sometime later on, make a thread for a new loan, delete it once they get it and so on.

This theory came to mind because I saw someone say they think someone was exit scamming, so I went to look at their posts and I realized, there was this other person a few days ago who removed their loan thread and recreated it (same loan, same reason why, etc).

There is no reason for donors to be able to remove their posts in that section, as that can blindside those who want to give loans out for a profit. No one will be able to view their old loans to see if they've got a loan before, whether by asking on a thread or making a post.

I am suggesting that you cannot remove your comments or threads. I am suggesting that you can edit your post, but after a certain period of time, you cannot edit it. That is to prevent users from editing it to something like "."

Key:
Question
Answer

Why should we lose a perk we paid for?
This suggestion is solely for loans, not for every section. You're only losing the perk in Loans if this were to be added. Why would this bother you?

Why can't you just look at someone's wall / rep?
Just because someone can add reputation doesn't mean they will. Just because someone can comment on a wall doesn't mean they will. Furthermore, some people limit users from posting on their wall, meaning only those they follow can post on their wall.

Why not ask around?
If you're a nondonor, you can't ask in the shoutbox. If you have a rank, what are the chances you'll find someone who actually did a loan for the user? Asking someone else isn't actually helpful. People will vouch because the person is reputable, but what if a reputable user is creating a lot of loans but you can only see one, if that, because of their ability to remove their own posts?

If there are more questions / concerns that I feel may be asked a lot in the suggestion, I'll put them here. So, please read the spoiler above before making a comment, thank you!

The staff can view removed posts. Pointless.

Look at the reputation.

What if it's a new member who just joined within a month? What if someone loaned a user, but didn't leave a reputation? What if they can't post on the person's wall because someone made it so only those they follow can post? Reputation doesn't always play a factor in it.

People with high rep are usually trusted, so tell me who actually leaves a rep for a loan to those who have rep? They believe they are trustworthy. Maybe they'll leave a rep when the loan is paid back, but that's a different thing.

Look at his profile page, ask people in the shoutbox, look at some of his recent posts. Easy solutions.

Once the loan is given to someone, they usually leave a neutral reputation discussing the payback time of the loan. So, that may be a red flag if he keeps asking for large loans.

Also, it's not "easy solutions" What if you're a nondonor, you can't ask there, now can you? What if you do have a rank, what are the chances you'll find someone who actually did a loan for the user? +You haven't read my comments carefully. Please re-read them to get a better insight on your point for "giving a rep"

It's pointless.[DOUBLEPOST=1514665333][/DOUBLEPOST]Because you need to be on here for a few months to access the loan section, so you'd be able to leave reputation. Boom.

I forgot there was even a requirement to post in the loans. You got me on that part, but what about if a user just doesn't leave a rep? People normally only leave a rep for those who are pretty new. No one would begin to think that a reputable person would scam so they don't tend to leave a rep when giving out a loan.

Just because someone can use the reputation system doesn't mean they will.
Just because someone can post on a wall doesn't mean they will.

Rating your post agree for your second part of your comment, not the first.

I think its more about the person who gave the loan to leave a message on the person who took the loan's profile to keep everyone aware, there is no point removing privileges we paid for.

Just because someone gives out a loan, doesn't mean they will actually leave a rep or write on the wall stating that. Like I said before, people don't tend to think reputable users will scam so they don't bother with leaving a rep or write on the wall. Furthermore, some people have their walls where only those they follow can write on it.

Not everyone has that mindset, to let everyone know they loaned someone money.

I am also not suggesting this feature be removed from all sections, just Loans because that's where you're getting money or loaning it, people should not be able to remove their posts in the loans section for my reasons stated in my original thread. I'm sure that's how a lot of people who exit scammed, scammed.

If it were to be removed shouldnt it be all around because the scams can be done on anything, such as in the server builds section, someone could sell a build exclusive delete the thread and resell it. Exiting scamming would be a problem everywhere. No point removing the delete thread option in one area. Its also unfair on people who bought supreme just to be able to delete threads.

Because the loans section is specifically for money. People are more prone to scam there than any other section.

But dont you think its unfair for people who paid for the rank for the specific purpose of deleting threads, with the intention not to scam.

You're overreacting, I'm suggesting that the feature be removed in 1 section, which is the loans.

We are looking to make adjustments to investments and loans to reduce scamming, but I don't think removing a perk from users like this really has any benefit.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
