Make shout box archive public

I feel it would be good if we could go back and grab quotes rather than mods needing to 24/7 would be nice to be able to have all the quotes needed before contacting staff to resolve an issue

Eh, I think this would cause more bad than good. If some advertising happens in shoutbox or pornography posted, only the people that were there at the time would be able to see it and it would be more than likely pruned. If everyone had the archives then it would be public no matter when you look

Eh I see your point of view I just feel it would make it a lot easier for members to be able to get issues resolved faster

that's like saying messages can't be deleted.
they can and im sure in an event like such, it can be removed.

If someone like that happens they usually prune, and it stays in the archive as evidence that user did the crime. If it was removed then people are more likely to be falsely accused or to get away with stuff.

Working on a way to hide messages from public view at the moment.
If we delete messages, then they're gone forever with no way of recovering them. However the ability to hide them would allow us to use someones messages against them for example as evidence to contribute towards a ban.

If someone like that happens they usually prune, and it stays in the archive as evidence that user did the crime. If it was removed then people are more likely to be falsely accused or to get away with stuff.

We do not prune anymore.

He's saying that we would essentially clear the entire archive. Which ain't going to happen. It used to happen because when we pruned the old shoutbox messages were still stored in an archive thread - but not with this chat addon.

I have the feeling people will just go in the archive to look for reasons to report certain users because they have a grudge against them.

Well theres always 1 chat mod on always except for the times when theres like 0 people in shoutbox. Also its a 7 day suspension because im at 20 points
