It's safe forever. Look in my username history, you won't be able to change your name to anything in there. New members however can register with usernames in your username history. That's where the problem lies. Can I get confirmation from BeBosny? BEcause when I press "Change Username" it doesnt state that you have your name safe for 30 days..
It's not hard to think 2-3 times before changing your username.in case you don't like your current one.
I would be nice though. Some people can't make up their minds like me.Minecraft usernames =! A forum username.
I honestly think this is just useless.

or, you could get an alias and stick with itI would be nice though. Some people can't make up their minds like me.

Exactly. So why is there a very minecraft like name cool down?Minecraft usernames =! A forum username.
Because it's exactly 1 month it's suddenly Minecraft alike? That doesn't really make any sense nor does it back up this suggestion.Exactly. So why is there a very minecraft like name cool down?
If you change your name, you should definitely be allowed to take it back before anyone else does. When I changed my name to Warning I then had to worry for 30 days that some new member was going to register with the name Devon. What's wrong with having it how it was originally, where you don't have to wait 30 days per name change? Also, your analogy is very weak. All normal cars have 4 wheels - it's a standard. Maybe if the suggestion said mcm should implement usernames instead of us all going by an ID number that would work, but unfortunately for you it doesn't. This website and mojang are the only 2 platforms I've ever come across that have a cooldown on changing a username.Because it's exactly 1 month it's suddenly Minecraft alike? That's like saying BMW is copying Audi because both cars have 4 wheels.
In that case you should have not changed your name to "Warning" if you didn't want to lose it. Pretty simple. When I changed my name to Warning I then had to worry for 30 days that some new member was going to register with the name Devon.
The fact that we're currently using a public addon for it. If we modify the addon, we will have to modify every single update the original developer releases. Next to that, this feature just isn't needed. Don't change your name if you don't want to lose your previous one, it's simple as that. What's wrong with having it how it was originally, where you don't have to wait 30 days per name change?
Because not many forums/platforms allow username changes. If they do, it's a limited number or it costs money. Next to that, you can't really compare us to a game. A game is completely different than a forum where it's all about establishing a communication platform. Your alias is vital. This website and mojang are the only 2 platforms I've ever come across that have a cooldown on changing a username.
So the add on that handles name changes added the cool down? The fact that we're currently using a public addon for it.
