Making a server hosting company and need your help!

Hello there, I know this post may seem dumb and I will get lots of hate on it but I am looking for those who care about what I'm doing. If you are interested in helping continue reading, if not.... then goodbye!


So whats the purpose of this post? Well, I have always tried to make a minecraft server and succeed at it but the one thing that gets in my way is MONEY. Isnt that what kills every server?

So, I have been thinking for about 3 months about this now and haven't been able to find a way to do this until I googled for a place to post about this and see if anyone would help, so. Basically what I am going to try and do is make a very cheap to no cost server host. I have tried getting partnerships or sponsored by hosts but I need either many subscribers or followers or they don't do that, what I want to create is a server host that helps server owners, not only hosts the server but for free sets up the plugins etc, think about it.... most people buy a server and not know how to setup plugins.... I want this host to not only be a host but a place everyone enjoys, I want it where you can pay $5 and get 3 months of hosting and then decide if you want to keep paying, this may sound like a very stupid impossible idea but that's where you come in, I need help with making this work I need smart people to help make this happen, once we get this host running and once we start making profit etc you will be paid, I'm not talking about $8 or so, I'm talking about a lot of money, the only way I can promise you money is to help make this happen, it may take a year but you must be willing to help me and understand how much work I will have to put into this, you don't need to do anything, you could just provide free web hosting, a computer for me to host servers off of etc....

Again I know crazy stupid idea whatever, but I want to change the hosting experience and make costumers very pleased, imagine how many people would use us?

Before you hate on me please just go off and do something else, I just need advice on how this will work and if it will I don't need a long list of how stupid the idea is, please be kind and let me know what you think.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the general idea of this thread it that You have always failed at making successful servers due to a lack of funds, so you want to spend an excessive amount of funds in order to make little to no profit? Wut..?

You are right and not, most of the time I make servers I get donations, I close for other reasons usally but when I first am starting the first few months I don't have the money to pay, I am 15 so I don't have the money to pay $40 a month etc to start a host, with the help of others I can start the company and pay them but also get money as well. I already have a couple people that I know who are going to help but right now we need the resources and equipment.

Not to start anything but it takes alot more than $40 a month to start a host. Usually just a quality server hardware is $100+

That was just a example.... at first I may try and do the reseller plans which are fairly cheap (also the example) but I get what you are saying. Sadly more I think about this more I realize it wont happen ;/

I would honestly tell you not to go into the hosting industry. Its bot really worth it anymore due to thousands of hosting companies out there and the price per gb is so competitive. Good luck though if you continue to go through this

True.... ive tried to ask around if any were hiring but most say I need experience and should try making my own for experience and 3 months later here I am lol

Yeah, if I still owned my company I would consider you as you want the experience. I think if you still want to do this, just save up a budget then ask someone for an investment once you have put in some of your own money and have the core items
