Should be able to steam most games at above 60 fps however if you got some extra cash to splash get either a 2700 or a 1070 if you can find a good deal. Gl. Rep is greatly appreciated.

Newegg is the cheapest pc parts website you'll find all year around, maybe Frys, but that's on rare occasions.
Also adding onto this Frys may be the best place to get the parts because some Frys stores have price matching so why wait for the part to be shipped and not just go pick it up for the same price as online.

Budget: $2000-$2500
Main use: Gaming
Games: Fortnite, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, COD BO4,
Settings: Medium
Monitor?: 1080p 60Hz

I currently use an Alienware 17R3 Laptop, with a Samsung 24" Curved Monitor. I have my dream peripherals, so I'm set with those. Also just recently dropped $300 on a new desk and chair, so the only things I'm looking to upgrade is my laptop to a custom built PC tower instead of a laptop, and my monitor to an ultrawide 1440p 144Hz.

ALSO LOOKING FOR MY PC TO BE WATER COOLED AND HAVE WHITE L.E.D'S

EDIT: Please link me of where to buy the parts you list.

Will be perfect for 1440p gaming. I normally would make a ryzen system but if you are just looking for gaming you might aswell go for Intel. The GPU is solid and will be future proof for many years, if you have the money go for a 2080ti. Rep is greatly appreciated. Good luck.

I gave this build to another user, it you had very similar requirements so this build will be great for you aswell. You may be able to get away with using your old case but it I recommend just buying a new one to be safe. Good luck. Rep is greatly appreciated.

Ryzen 5 2600
Rx 580 8gb
16gb ram ddr4 3000mhz
Am4 Mobo (Id reccomend the B450M-HDV)
1tb SSD
I'd get a 500 SSD and use the leftovers for a 590 or faster memory. Really just depends how much storage the user needs.

I'd prefer to get what matches what I already have, I know what I currently have works for ddr3 and would prefer to use that as I already have it.
You could get away with using an older i5 however it really isn't that good in today's world.

Are you looking to spend 5000 overall because you really don't have to spend that much for optimal performance

  • The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled.
  • The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

Can you explain to me what that means in a version where I'd understand it? Never built a PC before. I copy pasted that from the "compatibility notes" section of the link you sent me.
[DOUBLEPOST=1546914114][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, could you recommend me a 1440p 144hz ultrawide monitor?

You really won't need to worry about the m.2 issue as you will only have one ssd. For the monitor I can't really recommend an ultra wide because I'm not a fan of them. However if just look for ones reasonably priced that are reviewed.
