Man shot while pulled over. Opionions?

Recently a man was shot when his wife was pulled over for a broken tail light. The officer asked for his ID as well, and as he was pulling it out, he informed the officer he had a Conceal and Carry Permit and had his gun on him. The officer then shot him and he died. I was reading up on a topic on Quora a few weeks ago, and according to the thread, he did ALMOST everything he should have. Do you think it was right of the officer to shoot him?

Why do people need guns tbh..

People would like to be able to protect themselves in the event of something like robbery, rape, or other things like that. It's very common for someone to be able to stop lots of people from getting seriously hurt, solely because they had their gun on them. There's even discussion arising about whether teachers should be able to carry guns, and not have to be limited by district policy.

It was likely done out of racism, The so called 'Officer' had no right to shoot him. He complied with the rules, no reason to shoot.

Doesn't this tell you something? There haven't been shootings in Australia, China, etc for ages yet as you said someone got shit for having a gun - which he never would've had if they didn't allow guns.

Your point being what, guns are here ATM. If we restrict them, criminals will still have them, literally makes no difference besides a family having something to defend themselves with and not having anything. If you take away guns once we already have them it just puts more people at risk.

Not really, I'm sure most criminals have a weapon (guns, knives, etc) and it doesn't really make a difference which one they have.

I am sure there are thousands, tens of thousands, etc of criminals in Australia - and 99.9% of them probably have one weapon or another.

Exactly so what are you trying to prove?? If someone came to your house (criminal with a weapon) what are you supposed to do? hit them with a toasted? your point is invalid

Even if guns were illegal, if people really wanted a gun they could get a gun. For instance weed is illegal but look at how many people smoke weed? Laws don't do anything to people who don't follow them. And I think it is perfectly fine for people to have guns as long as if they are trained in handling them.

Exactly my point (in the second post), even if there weren't already guns in the US people would just go get one.

I don't understand what you're trying to say you're saying we need to ban guns when in fact that does nothing but un protect ourselves

If one of your loved ones were to be shot, I think you'd need a moment to take it in as well.

I'm saying that if Australa, China, New Zealand, etc can survive withut everyone having guns - I'm sure America can too.


Australians don't have guns and there are less shootings / major incidents in Australia than in America.

You don't understand at all what i'm saying there would be more of a crime risk when people don't have a way to protect themselves. You can't just take guns away from a place that has always had guns. People will find a way to get guns.
