ABOUT ME:

Hello, didn’t see ya there! My name is “Mari” and I am your guy for community and staff management and everything related to that.

But first, let’s talk about outside of Minecraft.
  • I am an 18 year old male.
  • I live in the United States (EST).
  • I am a full-time student attending a university that ranks within the top 75 national universities via U.S. News
  • I am majoring in Sports Management and I work part-time for my university’s athletics department.
  • I am a sports fanatic. I play and watch basketball, baseball, and football (soccer) in my free time and I go to the gym 6 days a week.
  • I am a pretty chill and relaxed guy, but that’s enough about my personal life.
Things related to Minecraft:
  • My IGN is “jmari”, although, I want to buy a new account soon due to the horrible name history.
  • My favorite game-mode is prison, although, I strive in any community especially if it is PvP based.
SKILLS:

-I can handle all demotions and promotions on the server adequately. I can also recruit new members to your liking and specifications
-I can write up all documents for the forums. I already have written up documents but I can edit them to your liking.
-I can also create the set-up the forums (XenForo), create sub-forums and I am decent with permissions and groups, but I would recommend hiring a professional since I haven’t done this in a while.
-I am sweaty on the forums, expect me to always be lingering on there. I can handle applications, ban appeals, player reports, etc.
-I can handle interviews of potential staff members. Although, I have done interviews in the past alone, I do think it is important to have multiple senior staff members during an interview because you can notice different things. The human mind only processes so much and each person can notice something different.
-I can handle basic stuff in-game but this is not my strongest asset. I also consider myself to be very professional in-game so you don’t have to worry about my maturity.
-I can train new staff members and also write up staff guides. I love interacting with my other staff members and I think it is important to have a connection outside of your work.
-I am very professional in-game and I consider myself to be very understanding and flexible when dealing with players' issues.

Other: social media management, efficiency management regarding the staff team, update and forum announcements

EXPERIENCE:

Crewniverse- This was actually the first multiplayer Minecraft server I ever played on, and still my favorite to date. I started off as a huge noob and a pretty quiet guy who just minded my own business, until I started actually communicating with a few of the staff members and well-known players on the server. I really started to get into their prison game-mode and I eventually decided to apply for Guard. I got the job but the owners (well-known YouTubers known as the Crew) started to care less and less about the server as time went on and I eventually just stopped playing. It wasn’t an actual staff position but it truly sparked my enjoyment for having a role on a Minecraft server. I felt a joy in a role-playing position and I wanted to move on to bigger and better things so I decided to start my own server with fresh and innovative ideas that still captured the Crewniverse feel.

World of Mari- I decided to start a server with a few old friends and it was called “World Of Mari”, hence my name “Mari". It started off as prison that was basically a copy of Crewniverse but with my own improvements, and then it quickly blossomed into a network with Factions, SkyWars, Mini Games like TNTRun and OITC and a hub. It went from a server.pro 1GB server to a OVH hosted network. I basically ran the server by myself, but I do admit I got offered a lot of help due to my lack of understanding for the technical side of servers. I had a staff team full of volunteers and a player base full of old friends. This was my first experience running a staff team (although the connections were already made), and it was a great learning experience. It was a great time but I decided to actually leave Minecraft for a few months so I could maintain my summer scholarship that allows me to go to school for free.

Araxite- This is where I really got the most experience from. This is where I became flexible as a staff member. I started off gaining their trust (due to lack of experience in management) and then I actually helped with the development of the server, although, I suck with the technical stuff of a server. I considered myself to be the heart of the server. I served as the only community/staff manager to where I also was the main person managing the forums. In this position, I took it upon myself to do multiple tasks: create the layout of the forums, handling applications for Build Team, Helper, and Famous, handling player reports and ban appeals, handling promotions and demotions, doing interviews, manage chat and answer questions, manage player suggestions and forward bug reports, develop useful guides for players and stuff, and other management duties. I interacted with so many people on the server and I learned plenty of communication skills (in different languages) due to our diverse player base. I was a joker in the TeamSpeak when around friends, but I handled everything professional when it came down to business. This server, unfortunately, went down due to lack of interest from the owners (this was actually during the time I took a break during finals week) but I actually ended up resigning because of the stress it brought me. I left on good terms and was still respected by the community. I like to think it was kind of a breakdown of the staff team after I took a 2 week long break, but either way it was a great learning experience and one I am very thankful for.

skypvp.io- This was a UHC based server. I helped moderate 100 player UHC games that were hosted by a close friend of mine and I actually help set-up a few plugins. I mostly dealt with player reports through a custom command on the server and chat moderation. It was a good time, but I think he got swamped with work recently and I haven’t been in contact with him since.

SPECIFICATIONS:

-I am looking to join a mature staff team that has staff members who know what they are doing, are professional, and are serious about their work.

-I am looking for a server with an already established player base or a server with the potential to get a good player base. I do not mind setting up before the release but I would much rather join a position with that already done. I do not have experience with advertisement/marketing but I am more than willing to learn new things.

-I do not require payment but I will gladly accept it, and I would also prioritize paid positions. I do this because I enjoy it and it will eventually help me in the real world (w/ management and communication). I have a lot of free time during this summer (not as much during semesters), but I also have other priorities. Please understand there are more important things in life than Minecraft. If you can’t handle that, I am not the right person for you. With that said, I will try to be as active as I possibly can.

-I am looking for a management position but I will consider lower positions if they seem appealing. Please only contact me with serious opportunities.
