What invaluable advantage would markdown provide us with which BBCode does not already?

You're asking to remove a native quality of Xenforo and replace it with a foreign, unsupported form of formatting. Forget if it's even possible: are you aware of how much of the forum functionality this would break?

Additionally, markdown isn't suitable for a forum. Features like spoilers, quotes, etc. require features that markdown just couldn't provide. Plus, considering the rich text editor already makes life easier, there really isn't an excuse.

The only place markdown would be slightly acceptable would be in the shoutbox. BBCode makes the shoutbox clunky, and messages probably don't need giant [B][/B] tags. So, a solution for that would be interesting.

Denied, BBCode is plenty good for our needs on MC-Market, especially with posts.
