So recently I've seen a lot of people complaining (Including Myself) in the shoutbox about how we can't talk about certain topics because they are not "PG". While in a way I understand where the staff are coming from with this, it's not fair to the older/users who act older to "pretend" to act "Child-Friendly". One thing needs to be made clear, it is not our job as a community to parent these younger users and shield them from adult content. That's their parents job, and if these parents are letting their kids run rampant across the Internet I feel we shouldn't have to suffer due to the ignorance of parents.

So what I propose is a section of our forums where users can discuss mature/Non-PG related topics without the scrutiny of "Child-Friendly" users and staff. Now this section would only be used to discuss topics that are Non-PG. This does not mean users can just go around posting pornographic content or stories on drugs, no. There will be no talk of sexual activities/drugs in this section. I've simply seen too many communities ruined by attempting to appeal to a younger audience whilst throwing the older audience under the bus.

Now that the suggestion is out of the way, I'm going to argue some of the points that will probably make their way onto this thread:

"This would break the theme of the site" First off, what exactly is the "theme" of this site? In one part of our forums we're selling steam items and in another section we're selling Minecraft builds. So do tell what our "theme" is because I'm just seeing us as an overall marketplace at this point.

"What if little kids find their way onto this section of the forum?" Simple, we have a message stating that this section of the forum contains explicit content and may not be suitable for younger users, viewer discretion advised. With this being stated, if a kid gets onto this part of our forums and doesn't like what they see it's their own fault for ignoring the warnings and the section itself shouldn't suffer to to one's stupidity. (Note, the message would look like this)

Last thing I would like to say is, if a staff member is reading this and doesn't like it. Don't just lock it! I'd like to see more than one opinion on this that isn't from a staff member, but your opinions are also welcomed to be shared. If you agree/disagree please leave a reason thanks!

This forum already isn't fully minecraft based, we allow the sale of steam items as well as clash of clans accounts. Although I do agree this would make us feel more like HF.
Not to mention users already post things about sex, drugs, and rape in the shoutbox and on other threads. Right now most of the users who have disagreed are pretending that this doesn't happen. I mean last night people were discussing fucking each other in the shoutbox. The shoutbox is something that can be seen by everyone and isn't concealed in a section of the forums.

Just about everyone on these forums came here because of the fact that we played minecraft at least once in our lives. So this forum brought us all together, along with our hobbies and similarities as well. But you have to acknowledge that minors are scattered throughout these forums as well. So talking about Clash of Clans or Call of Duty is totally acceptable. Bringing up explicit content on the other hand is not. There's no rule or law saying this forum shouldn't implement this section, but it's common sense that should tell you otherwise.

Call of Duty has violence right? Not mature for our youngsters.

We stated that there would be an 18+ disclaimer.
That won't help lol I am sure no one listens to that, we can't even put a age limit based on your accounts age you put when you created it as people lie about that as well.

I'm still basically waiting to hear from some younger users on here. We have everyone defending them and claiming they know what's best for them. Yet we haven't heard their opinion on this matter .

That honestly doesn't do anything. You don't read the 6+ page TOS or agreement whenever you download a computer program, do you? What makes you think kids will read that?

I don't know it's like a sentence long? With the disclaimer you can't really have parents come after the site either. Their kids ignored the disclaimer and they paid the consequences.[DOUBLEPOST=1460297854][/DOUBLEPOST]
Wait so we can or cant talk about sexual activities. Because I want to talk about the time I was tripping balls on shrooms running from 50 cop cars and 2 helicopters while having a hooker blow me. Or is that not allowed?
Well that was going to be allowed, but the staff are a bit worried we are poisoning the minds of the "innocent" children on here.

Parents allow their kids to play the game. They're the ones who purchased the game after all. Pornography on the other hand is something that shouldn't even be compared to it. I would let my kid play COD, but I'm not going to let him watch porn.

Let me reiterate what I've stated to you before, I've modified the original suggestion to not include anything of sexual/pornographic/drug related nature. So there's really no point in bringing up the pornographic argument anymore.

In that case, I don't see a need for a mature section anymore. What kinds of content would be in it?

Topics such as the war on terror, politics, current news in the world (A lot of our worlds new isn't all sunshine and rainbows), tv shows and movies that could be rated R, the list honestly can go on and on.

Off-Topic Discussion would be suitable for most of those things.

Yet it I were to discuss these, would I be told to modify it to be "child friendly"? Modifying these types of topics essentially turns them into lies one will tell the community. A good example being ISIS. These Muslims are beheading people and putting their heads on stakes. Would I have to modify it to where I'd be saying ISIS is just a terror group that does nothing like this or could it remain truthful? There's no point in discussing these topics if they are modified to form lies.[DOUBLEPOST=1460299497][/DOUBLEPOST]xD the suggestion on the suggestion list has 17 agrees and on the suggestion itself says 1 agree but the disagrees remain.

I'll go ahead and deny this.

tjrgg and thebaum64 provided plenty of reasons as to why it shouldn't be added.
