MC-M APP!?

Hey MCM

I was thinking about MCM making a mobile phone app!!


How awesome would that be? Instead of going through the browser there could be an app which would be alot easier to navigate than safari on phones etc!

I think this would go along the lines of XenForo itself. Not sure how iOS Apps work, really. But it might be in consideration of XenForo's panel itself.

As big as MC-M is, I don't think it is quite large enough to need a dedicated iOS or Android application.

If you install that, an app called Tapatalk will work with it.

EDIT: The forums needs need a plugin to use it. Spigot works with it, so I just thought that any XenForo forum would.

There are multiple ways for this to work. There is an application called Tapatalk - in which the website can be paired up with it and the website will be accessible easily on phones (some parts of the forum will not work on the phone.) The way it is currently seen on phones - normally, is fine because XenForo is meant to be responsive to all sizes.

Then again, MCM could create it's own application - which is both compatible with all of the features of MCM and looks amazing on the iPhone and Android smartphones. An example of this is Shotbow Network's application. This would take a lot more work than the first option, but yeah.

I've seen this suggestion made in the past, and nothing has been done on it. I don't think making a MCM application is a bad idea, neither is Tapatalk, but not everyone feels the same. I'd like to see where this suggestion goes.

This is suggested before but not approved. Creating an app costs a lot of many and why should they do it? If you go on the website on mobile you already have a special layout for it.

normally, is glitchy because it is meant for desktop, but all the features are there.

It's not glitchy at all. XF is made to be fully responsive.

As for the thread. This has been suggested and declined multiple times. Please use the search feature.

We won't even consider a app anytime soon, here's why.
XenForo has amazing mobile support out of the box. It's fully responsive and functional on any screen size.

Tapatalk has it's security flaws. A simple Google search will help with that.

Getting an app made from scratch would costs thousands. It'll never be as good and stable as the Xenforo mobile version of the site.

If you do have a device running IOS you can simply add it to your home screen.
