So I've been seeing SO many people getting scammed to impersonators on discord, so I had an idea:
  • When someone is paying you for something, there's an option on your profile that says "Pay now"
  • Then it gives you there paypal email in a popup window or something
Or:
  • You can create an invoice and send it to the persons mc-market via pm's or email
If every transaction on the site went through this process then there would be literally 0 impersonation scams.
mc-market wouldn't take a cut of the payments since all they're really doing is linking somebodys paypal email to there mc-market account.

- And this wouldn't go to paypals site, it would just provide them with the persons paypal email.

"Pay Now" Would mean via G&S
Chargebacks as you've noticed majority people here is getting charged back.
This will place a liability on MC-Market as they would redirect payments, and can cause an effect calling "MC-M" did not approve my payments.
People will then "pay" and chargeback unprovoked just to cause issues.

Oh I forgot to mention, this isn't a paypal payment it just supplies them with there paypal address so they can send in whatever format

Yeah and goods and services is the way to pay. You are not going t o pay f and f. Just cover the fee, I don't see any issue. Majority of scams are done via f and f.

True, then you still forget that

- The market is toxic. They will send $0.01 to people and open chargebacks.
- People will find a way to abuse the system.

Here is an easy way to prevent "getting scammed"

- Do deal onsite and use to correct email when dealing.[DOUBLEPOST=1526736198][/DOUBLEPOST]

You realise majority of the people on here does not take F&F especially us that works with amounts above $300 daily.

It's like anything really, there's always gonna be idiots that are gonna do shit like that, there's no difference someone legitimately asking to buy something and then sending money and chargebacking then - it just makes the community safer.

Not everyone wants their email address publicly displayed though. If they didn't, they may not do this and therefore, it wouldn't fully resolve the matter of impersonators.

I agree it would cut them down though.

More importantly, people need to be aware that this does happen and make sure they're talking to who they say they are by confirming it on the website. Maybe there should be a well documented guide on avoiding these scams.

That's where the "invoice" system could work ;)

Exit scams in f and f? Just refund the 1 cent then?[DOUBLEPOST=1526736527][/DOUBLEPOST]

And just take all the info and take t and s before they send payment. and make them put it in the note. There is no issue.

Say there was a system like this implemented, I would want to assume MCM as a Forum/Marketplace would want some sort of share out of it.
You saying MCM will want a share of the revenue just for listing an email address?

It's not really that hard to avoid getting scammed, use a middleman and always confirm identities on site.

Lots of scams are happening because the buyer is too lazy to confirm who he is buying from, just ask them on discord to message you on MCM

I agree with the fact that it would reduce the number of scams on the marketplace.

However, is it really required? It’s not very hard to simply double-check with the seller without having their emails/paypal public 24/7 to all users.

In my opinion, it’ll just be a waste of time to create when it’s not really something that’s required.

The type of user who falls for an impersonation scam is generally just a new person on the forum, since everyone who has been around for a while know that you should always confirm the identity of the user you are dealing with. If you don't check a user is who they say they are, you're also not going to use a paypal system on-site.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
